New Ministry for Sister Carol Kronfield

Posted 11/30/2018

Sister Carol Kronfield has embarked on a new adventure and ministry of service to Homebound Older Adults.

On October 26, 2018, Sister Carol along with eight other volunteers, graduated at the Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio, Inc. in a joint effort with the Toledo Police Department to become volunteers who check on the well-being of the elderly or disabled citizens. They also check on the homes of people who might be away for a time, in a hospital or rehabilitation.
Volunteers are required to complete a training program that includes information on services, Adult Protection Services, Scam Recognition, Defensive Driving and other issues. Part of the training requires a couple ride-alongs to learn the procedures. This program called the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP) began in 2000 and now has about 80 active volunteers.
