Directional Statement
2010-2014
"As Ursulines of Toledo, we strive to live in holy relationship through contemplative presence, promoting unity, welcoming diversity, and encouraging new forms of Ursuline life. Our recognition of our own need for reconciliation calls us to be peacemakers among the powerful and the powerless in our Church and in our world."
Ursulines carefully nourish the spirit of their foundress, Angela Merici, a woman of vision who designed a different concept of dedicated religious life. She saw the needs of her 16th Century society: respect for the dignity of women and a care for Christian family life. Angela urged her followers to love the Church, to cherish the people of God, and to change with the times in an ever-ready response to the call of the spirit.
The Sisters serve in the Diocese of Toledo, OH., Washington, DC., Bakersfield, CA., and Callao, Peru in South America
