Ursuline Book of Prayer

Posted 11/28/2017

Volume II of the Ursuline Book of Prayer is now in the hands of Sisters and Associates who have chosen to use it for prayer during Ordinary Time of the Church year.

Volume I, the Advent and Christmas Book of Prayer has been in use for several years now.

In the Introduction to the Book of Prayer one significant reason is cited for publishing this book:
“One final reason for choosing to create an Ursuline “Office Book” is our community desire to strengthen the spiritual bonds between Ursuline Sisters and our associate members, and among Ursulines worldwide, especially in the English-speaking world. Vatican II and even more the General Instruction on the Liturgy of the Hours reminded us that this prayer form belongs to all God’s people, not just clergy and religious. Sharing the Ursuline Book of Prayer with associates and family members, as well as with Ursulines in other Congregations, is one concrete way to nourish the charism of St. Angela Merici that unites and shapes us all.”

Special appreciation and gratitude from all who will enjoy praying in solidarity with other Ursuline family friends goes out to the Writing Committee -
